Unbeknownst to me, the folks over at Chesterton.org have a podcast! (Sidenote: IMHO, Chesterton would be horrified at the isolationism that the Earbud Culture breeds, but, redeemingly, would likely enjoy Podcasts as smalltalk writ large.)
The Podcast is called Uncommon Sense (libsyn here) and starts with a few of the usual suspects: Dale Ahlquist, Mark Shea, etc. They have over 40 episodes now -- check 'em out.
Here are a few just to whet your appetite:
This blog is dedicated to bringing you free orthodox Catholic audio. If you have a tip or would like to report a broken link, please e-mail me by clicking the link above.
"Faith then cometh by hearing; and hearing by the word of Christ."
Rom 10:17(DRV)
I'm not sure exactly what the "Earbud Culture" is, or what exactly it means to say that it "breads", but I can't see why there's anything intrinsically isolating about a podcast. You can listen to them in the car with your family, play them at your reading group or bible study, and share them with your friends. In fact, isn't it a way of sharing thoughts with even *more* people? More people than could fit into one auditorium to listen to a lecture or interview at a given time?
Thanks for the spellcheck, Doc. I fixed the breads/breeds thing.
I'm not against listening to Catholic audio. I run this blog fercryingoutloud. What I mean by Earbud Culture is not so much playing audio in groups or with your family. Rather, what I mean is putting in the ol' earbuds and tuning out the rest of the world. It's more along the lines of this: http://bit.ly/eUOBCT
Make more sense?
God Bless,
