Thanks to Phil Porvaznik, here are the Pacwa v. Martin debates.

Fr. Mitchell Pacwa, S.J. received his B.A. in Philosophy and Theology from the University of Detroit, summa cum laude. He received his Master of Divinity and S.T.B. from the Jesuit School of Theology of Loyola University, magna cum laude. He was ordained a Catholic priest in 1976 and then continued his studies, receiving a Ph.D. in Old Testament from Vanderbilt University in 1984. He has taught at the High School, University and Seminary levels. He has lectured at conferences and churches around the world and has appeared and hosted hundreds of international radio and television programs. His fluency in twelve languages and his extensive travels throughout the Middle East have afforded him a unique understanding of the peoples and cultures of the Middle East. In the year 2000, he established Ignatius Productions in order to further promote the Gospel through multi-media teaching presentations.

Yeah -- you read that right. Fluent in
twelve languages with proficiency in a couple of others (including Latin, Koine Greek, Hebrew, Aramaic, Ugaritic, German, Spanish, Polish, Hebrew, Arabic, French (reading only), Italian, and English)! You can also catch his program on EWTN on Wednesdays at 8pm or catch a podcast of the show here. Without further ado...

Fr. Pacwa rox0rz!! I never knew the OT(especially the prophets) is even remotely interesting and enjoyable until I saw his show on the subject. He's one of the finest defenders of the Catholic Faith. Tnx for the UL. ^o^

No sweat. In truth, Fr. Pacwa is my least favorite debater -- he tends to let points slip by and rather frequently makes admissions he really shouldn't make. It's more a problem with his manner of interpersonal interaction than his theology (for example, listen for a place when he unequivocally says "no"...um...ever), but the guy is definitely a genius and an orthodox defender of the Faith.

That said, if there are two American apologists I whom I think have a real shot at canonization, it's him and Rosalind Moss.

The Moderator was TERRIBLE. He was debating Pacwa as well! I have heard better debates and better debaters than Martin and Pacwa. But I think these subjects are much deeper than a back and forth of 40 minutes can justly do.

I don't know what to think about these. You have a two-on-one Protestant advantage and the "moderator" frequently interrupts Pacwa and lets Martin talk. It's a sham.

Still, Pacwa held his own, though was stifled at times.

As a Protestant (Baptist) I don't agree with the Catholic doctrine, but enjoyed the debate with Fr. Pacwa and the late Dr. Walter Martin. Thanks for posting the audio on this web site so we all can enjoy.

These were not 'debates'. Fr Pacwa was treated shabbily, and the 'moderator', Ankerberg, didn't moderate at all. Still, Fr Pacwa clearly won this 'debate'. LOVE to see a 'debate' between Ankerberg and Fr Pacwa that I would moderate.
