The USCCB alerted me to a site which appears to be leading the way in compiling the WYD '08 audio - MyCatholicVoice. Here is some audio from WYD '08, as given by MyCatholicVoice (listen free, download for about a dollar each):

You could add a few more to the list of "What the kids are listening to these days..." Just got back from a Steubenville Conference with our youth group. The theme song can be found at www.franciscanyouth.com (free download).

Bob Rice did the music this past weekend and all of the teens loved his music. His site is http://www.bobricemusic.com/ and he has 9 songs available for free download. (I was actually listening to his new album "You Came to Me" when I saw this post.)

I've got more if you want them. There is lots of variety in the Catholic music world.

OF COURSE I want more! Heh heh. Please shoot me an e-mail with all the links you like and I'll post them when I get a chance.

    Thanks, and God Bless!

    Nick,

Wow - a bona fide celebrity posting comments on my site! I've seen you on EWTN and have heard you on Rosary Army. I'm honored.

Question for you: I've never been able to find free music on your site, even to listen. Am I doing something wrong, or is it all pay-to-play?

    God Bless,
    Ryan

    Hi Ryan...

First off, I am a fan of your site, I've gotten tons of nice links to your page, so that's cool in itself.

To answer your question, many of the individual Catholic artists have full songs streaming from their own websites, or myspace pages, or soundclick pages.

TopCatholicSongs work as a centerpoint where we focus on themes, but from these pages you can click thru to the artist pages, and listen to them in full. Or, you can listen to a 30 second snippet off of iTunes, (and if you wish to purchase, it's only a dollar).

But the full effect is that it gives you a great opportunity to be introduced to great Catholic music, by focusing on themes that are important to you. You may not know who some of the artists are, but you may have an interest in growing spiritually in some way, or memorizing verses from St. Paul, or finding new adoration music, or finding music that befits a particular liturgical season... TopCatholicSongs is a blog-efficient approach to accomplishing all this, and more.

Thanks for the shout-out! My own website will be updated in a few weeks, so I'll keep you posted!

I like this site but I have to be honest, this music is terrible.

    Tim,

You're tellin' me, brutha'. It's definitely NOT my cup of tea, but I figured if they're producing this much stuff there's got to be someone who likes it...

    God Bless,
    Ryan
