I just finished listening to Episode 12, Season 3 on Indulgences...and I must say...it's the best presentation on the topic I've encountered by a modern Apologist (including Hahn, Akin, Staples, Sungenis, Fastigian, Pacwa and Keating) -- and it took significantly less than an hour. From what I understand, I'm going to a baptism reception tomorrow with this guy's wife. Small world...

In any case, I'm largely unfamiliar with his work, but it comes highly recommended from a friend (Max Goss, former editor of the Right Reason blog, where Francis Beckwith - at that time the president of the Evangelical Theological Society - announced his reversion to the Catholic faith).

Based in my experience with Max, I'm really looking forward to these lectures.

Young priests strike again:

Fr. John Riccardo was ordained a priest of the Archdiocese of Detroit in 1996. The youngest of five children. A graduate of The University of Michigan. After working for several years in the professional world, entered the seminary to begin studies for the priesthood. Studied philosophy at Sacred Heart Major Seminary in Detroit. Studied theology at the Gregorain University in Rome. Received a Sacred License in Theology (STL) from The Pope John Paul II Institute for Studies on Marriage and the Family. Formerly serving as the Director of the Cardinal Maida Institute located at St. John Center for Youth and Family in Plymouth, Michigan.

Since July, 2005, Fr. John Riccardo had been pastor of St. Anastasia Catholic church in Troy, MI. He's a very popular speaker at pro life and church events. Fr. John is now pastor at Our Lady of Good Counsel in Plymouth, MI.

Father Richard John Neuhaus is president of The Institute on Religion and Public Life, a nonpartisan interreligious research and education institute in New York City.

Neuhaus was ordained as a Lutheran minister and served 17 years as pastor of an African-American congregation in Brooklyn. He converted to Catholicism and was ordained as a priest in 1991, and has played a leading role in organizations dealing with civil rights, international justice and ecumenism.

Samuel Gregg, D.Phil. (Oxon.)
Director, Center for Economic Personalism

Dr. Samuel Gregg is a moral philosopher who has written and spoken extensively on questions of ethics in public policy, jurisprudence, bioethics, and ethics in business. He has an MA in political philosophy from the University of Melbourne, and a Doctor of Philosophy degree in moral philosophy from the University of Oxford, which he attended as a Commonwealth Scholar.

Dr. Gregg is the author of several books, including Morality, Law, and Public Policy (2000), Economic Thinking for the Theologically Minded (2001), and, most recently, On Ordered Liberty (2003). He also publishes regularly in journals such as Markets&Morality, Crisis, and Policy. He is the American editorial consultant for the Italian journal, La Societa, as well as American correspondent for the German newspaper Die Tagespost.

Dr. Gregg is Director of Research at the Acton Institute, an Adjunct Professor at the John Paul II Pontifical Institute for Marriage and the Family within the Pontifical Lateran University, and a consultant for Oxford Analytica Ltd. In 2001, he was elected a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, and in 2003 he was elected a member of the Mont Pèlerin Society.
