For the initiated, that's enough. For the uninitiated, Fr. Robert Barron is one of the best things going in American Catholicism right now. He's witty, he's plugged into pop culture (but not in a lame "who let the dogs out, right? Right?!?" kind of way), he's smart as all get out, he's wonderfully articulate and he's happily orthodox. He has a weekly podcast that consists of his sermon for the week: the Word on Fire podcast (subscribe NOW!). He's working on an unprecedented documentary called The Catholicism Project. He's a darling of the Catholic blogosphere. Finally, he has done a number of very good YouTube videos. Here's an example of one he did for Avatar (* SPOILER ALERT * SPOILER ALERT *):

Cardinal George has declared 2006 the “Year of Evangelization.” Father Barron has been chosen to take the lead in this spiritual initiative. Father Barron is a nationally-renowned speaker, author and professor of theology at the University of St Mary of the Lake/Mundelein Seminary. He is delivering a series of special Lenten Missions throughout the Archdiocese of Chicago. Father Barron recorded abbreviated versions of his talks for viewing on our web site. They run about 4-minutes each and can be viewed by clicking on the links below.
Fr. Barron is a priest from the Chicago Archdiocese who has a particular charism for speaking the word of God; as a friend of mine put it, "He's literally shining with the Holy Spirit!" Robert is the author of several books and conducts frequent retreats and workshops about spiritual life.
