As I've said before, I'm rather agnostic about origins theories. When someone proves something conclusively, do let me know. As of now, the problems of
abiogenesis and the
Cambrian explosion prevent me from believing evolution as the Darwinists recount it, and, to be frank, the proponents of ID prevent me from believing ID as the IDers typically present it.

For those so inclined, do check them out. I'd probably recommend going with Fr. Euteneuer...the second e-mail (the "I've been reading your blog" one) seems like it's shamelessly pandering...unless he actually IS reading the blog...in which case he should reply to my e-mail and I'll stop nay-saying his broadcast organization. ;oP
UPDATE: He replied and told me that a colleague "who is a writer and a deacon" (I'm guessing it's deacon Greg Kandra) "recommended that I contact you as you might want to know what we had planned for coverage."
So...hmmph. Not quite the flood-all-Catholic-bloggers type e-mail I suspected, but he doesn't quite sound like a regular reader either. Disappointing that he'd feel the need to tell me he's been reading the blog if he hasn't. So yeah, I still recommend Fr. Euteneuer.

I'm linking to a site wherein a former Catholic priest,
Richard Bennett, founder and president of the
Berean Beacon mission to proselytize Catholics, attacks the Church for not being Biblical enough (as he understands the term). Frankly, I think the guy is a bit of a nut job -- which means he needs prayers all the more. In any case, he was the subject of a
Catholic Answers piece and he's gained some notoriety (though it has wanned quite a bit in the past decade or so). If you really want to spend some time figuring out whether you know your faith and you're succeeding as a budding apologist,
give some of the files on his site a listen and try in your mind to refute his claims.
I'm a HUGE fan of this holy priest's talks -- he hits points (Biblical, historical and theological) I haven't heard anyone else hit in the thousands of hours of listening I've done. I recommend his
Doctors of the Church series first and foremost, but for those of you who have either already listened or aren't sure yet whether to invest the time, here's are two recently updated audio files from his site:
