UPDATE: Some folks in the combox are speculating about these speakers' fidelity to the post-V2 Church. Feel free to chime in.
UPDATED UPDATE: Audio Sancto chimed in and put the matter to rest -- it's all good. Also, Audio Sancto pointed to the linking terms of use, which include the following provision (FYI):
A few people have written in recently and pointed me to the Audio Sancto Sermon Series. Since there's really some great stuff there, I've been meaning to do a series of several posts where I break down the talks by topic. Unfortunately, I just can't seem to find the time. Rather than keep holding on to these gems, I figured I'd just share the link. To give you an idea of what's there, here are the links from the front page:

- If you can, please say three Hail Mary's for the priests who preach these sermons, and ask others to do the same

Their sermons are unbelievable! I've listened to their stuff, all the way back to 2003.
Do these guys believe in dinosaurs?
I have a couple of concerns about these guys. Are they priests in good standing with Rome? I know the website says they are but yet they insist on keeping the identity of the speakers private. That seems a bit odd. The links they provide lean towards pre Vatican II interests. Thoughts ?
So far I have given two of the talks a listen including one about the liturgy. So far so good. Their home page did make me wonder just a bit.
@psalm: the priests are most certainly in good standing with Rome. Also, it is explained on Audio Sancto why the priests request anonymity (see http://www.audiosancto.org/pages/about.php for more info). If you have more questions feel free to contact me via the Audio Sancto contact page.
The priests seem to be FSSP(Priestly fraternity of Saint Peter)
It's a fraternity that has the pope's approval.
These sermons are the best I've listened to in a long time. These priests are holy priests.
WOW, I have become addicted.
The lent Mission 2008 if FANTASTIC !!!!! Highly recommend it, and how I wish we got preaching like this at the parish level...
Father mentions a book in Part 2: "Why should I Suffer" pub. 1935. Can anyone point me to a copy of that book, I do not have the author.
Thanks.
I just found audio sancto, and have downloaded their complete archive. The sermons truly challenge Catholics to holiness and fidelity to the Faith. One thing bothers me: they often refer to the Baltimore catechism, but never to the Catechism of the Catholic Church.
This seems very odd to me. It isn't listed on their website as a recommended resource either.
Their teaching is wonderful, but I hope they aren't involved with the Society of St. Pius X.
I don't understand why they can't identify their Order, if they belong to one, or simply say they are diocesan priests, if that is the case. Why all the mystery???
All I want to know is that they truly are in communion with our Holy Father, Pope Benedict, and the Roman Catholic Church.
Thanks for any input on this.
Anonymous, didn't you read the other comments above? The priests are FSSP priests. And don't the Baltimore Catechism and the CCC say the same thing?
Hi Lynne, thanks for responding. The only comment regarding the FSSP was that someone wrote that they "seemed to be..." I didn't see anything definitive. If I missed something, please help.
Believe me, I love listening to these priests and can't believe I found such a wealth of beautiful Catholic teaching. I just want to be sure that they are in good standing with the Church.
I guess I'm just wondering why they seem to completely ignore the beautiful CCC which even the most orthodox Catholic priests/teachers consider an essential for Catholics to read. (EWTN, priests of Opus Angelorum, Father Corapi, etc.)
Psalm, to answer your question "are they in good standing with Rome?" These guys are not only "in good standing with Rome", but guess who helped get them started? Answer: Cardinal Ratzinger, now Pope Benedict XVI, and they were first approved by Pope John Paul II.
These recordings can be shared outside of the website, however, for anyone who share them, they are asked to say three Hail Mary's for the priests.
Many of these guys are FSSP priests and the FSSP is in good standing with Rome. They preach the Faith as it should be taught--in an orthodox fashion and untainted by political correctness and modernism. The reason that one might question whether they are in union with Rome or not is because so many of us Catholics have not been peached Catholic teachings since Vatican II ended. AudioSancto's sermons are there to show us what we have been missing for decades. Listen, learn and either donate or pray for these priests. If Catholic priests in the average parish Church preached like these guys than America would be Catholic.
